From a blank canvas to a live trading platform
AFK.FUN is a memecoin DEX with automated trading, a strategy marketplace, and an AI assistant running through the entire product. There was no interface, no design system, and no reference product doing all of this in one place.
We joined the founders at the idea stage and designed every screen.
Product Strategy
UI/UX Design
The challenge
Memecoin trading is fast and unforgiving. Most traders juggle five tools at once: discovery, charts, execution, wallet tracking, signals. AFK.FUN set out to collapse all of it into one product.
Trenches
Token discovery split across New Pairs, About to Migrate, and Migrated, so traders follow a token's full lifecycle without switching context. The differentiator is platform-wide buy tracking, which gives a far more honest read on real momentum. A subtle indicator behind each row shows migration status at a glance.
Strategies
A parameter-heavy bot builder, grouped into three clear buckets: what and where, the conditions, and who executes. The key decision was backtesting. Traders run a strategy against seven days of real market data before any money moves. It turns "I hope this works" into "I have seen this work," and it is the reason a cautious trader ever presses launch.
Marketplace
Users publish strategies and earn a fee on every subscriber trade. Designing a strategy marketplace means designing for honest comparison, so losing strategies show their losses as plainly as winners show gains. Hiding that would have been easier and would have killed the credibility of the section.
Portfolio & Wallet
PNL, analytics, distribution, and open positions on one page, with multi-wallet management and PNL sharing built in. We designed the empty state with the same care as the full view, because it is the first thing every new user sees.
Rewards and Quests
Retention in this market is a product problem, not a marketing one. We turned real trading behavior into quests with clear rewards, points, and a live leaderboard with monthly payouts. Trading becomes a game worth playing, driven by progress and not only profit.
Trading terminal
Charts, execution, and automated exits on one screen. Take profit, stop loss, trailing rules, and migration triggers each get their own row and their own controls, because a mistake here costs real money.
AI Chat
The heart of the platform, reachable from any page, able to analyze tokens, build setups, run backtests, and act across the product. It shows its reasoning instead of handing down verdicts, states its limits up front, handles response latency visibly, and gives power users slash commands for deeper filters.
What guided the work
Speed is a design material. Trust is built by showing, not claiming. Complexity should be layered, not removed. Empty states are first impressions.
The outcome
AFK.FUN went from a conversation to a live platform: seven product areas, a complete design system, and an original AI interaction model, all in an interface built to hold an extraordinary amount of information without feeling heavy.
